OBJET ESSENTIEL — Sculptural Accents
A small block of warm light. The .0032b side table shares the cubic envelope of its blush twin — a 50-centimetre cube of cast translucent resin — but here the pigment is honeyed amber, the colour of poured tea held against the sun. The composition is identical to .0032a: a square top of 50 × 50 × 12 cm rests on a square pedestal centred beneath it, the slab projecting on all four sides in a soft cantilever. The resin is poured in a single body and hand-polished, so the surfaces have the wet, soft sheen of beeswax. In daylight the amber glows from inside; in lamplight it deepens to caramel. Conceived as a pair with .0032a, the two side tables can be placed side by side as a chromatic study, or specified individually as instruments for holding light.
