A sculptural study of mass as enclosure. The .0025 Bar Cabinet stands as a single grounded column, an elongated oval rising from the floor with the quiet presence of architecture. Defined by a continuous curved surface interrupted only by a vertical seam, the piece conceals its function within a monolithic form. The plan is a soft lozenge, drawn from two arcs joined along a central axis. The vertical seam down the front reads as a quiet hinge line; what appears monolithic is in fact two curved walnut doors that rotate apart, exposing interior compartments staged at varying heights — shelves for crystal, a recessed niche, a wine drawer pulled clear of the cylinder, and a closed cabinet at the base. The figure is built from solid walnut, panelled in vertical strips that follow the curvature of the form. The grain is left open and hand-rubbed with oil, allowing the wood to breathe against the matte surface of the room. Every surface is cut to follow the radius, so that plane interrupts gesture. The defining detail is the moment of opening — the lower drawer extending laterally from a face that, closed, gives no indication of its presence. The cabinet conceals its function entirely; it is, at rest, a column — function distilled to essence, becoming poetry. Suited to private residences, collectors’ interiors, and dining rooms where a single piece is asked to do the work of architecture — a wall, a column, a punctuation between rooms.
