Conceived as a sculptural exploration of negative space, .001 dissolves the convention of a continuous backrest. Three rounded volumes are set adrift on a single horizontal seat. The composition reads as one long curve broken open. Two terminal blocks frame the work; a third floats off-centre. The seat itself is a slow arc — wider at the rear, drawing the eye along its length. Cream bouclé wraps every surface, dense and matte. The textile reads almost like a poured material — soft, uniform, with no visible seams across the principal volumes. Each backrest block is gently inset from the seat line, leaving a shallow step where the hand can rest. It is the quietest gesture in the piece, and the one that anchors its rhythm. Suited to private residences, collectors’ interiors, and gallery rooms where a sofa must read first as architecture and only afterwards as furniture
