OBJET ESSENTIEL — SCULPTURAL ACCENTS
A low horizon of pigmented light. The .0031 Coffee Table takes the form of a single 120-centimetre slab of cast translucent resin held a few centimetres above the floor on two pedestal feet — a tabletop reduced to its essence, a colour-field at sitting height. The composition is quietly asymmetric. A top of 120 × 80 × 12 cm rests on two stocky feet, one slimmer than the other, set inboard from each short edge so that the slab appears to float clear of the ground. The material does the work. Pigmented resin, poured in a single body and hand-polished, glows from within — denser at the edges, softer through the body. Concealed at the long-form counterpart to the .0032 cubes — and as a chromatic relative of the larger .0055 dining table — the .0031 reads as the horizontal anchor of the OBJET ESSENTIEL family.
